Virgin Records has initiated a $30 million dollar lawsuit against Jared Leto’s Thirty Seconds to Mars. The Band was contracted to five albums and has thus far only produced two. They did experience some success with their 2005 release A beautiful lie but have otherwise just been a bunch of guys who hang out with Jared Leto. They are reportedly working on the third album, but obviously not to the likes of Virgin Records. A rep for the band has claimed that they have not been paid sufficiently for the work which they have completed. I am not really a huge fan of Thirty Seconds to Mars, but fell in love with Leto’s performance in Requiem for a Dream. If this lawsuit does have solid grounds it will be a very unfortunate event and most likely the the dismantling (heehee) of the group formerly known as Thirty Seconds to Mars. In any case this looks like it is about to get pretty messy.
